![]() So the size doesn't really matter for the project, but I'm hoping to learn about it since I've always had an aspiration to create my own site for my artwork. In the end the website won't actually be put online unless we choose to do that ourselves. ![]() But most answers I found were more general, and I'm wondering if things differ when the purpose of the site is to show the quality of the artwork. Obviously 2mb is way too high, considering I have about 10 photos on each page. I've searched and found an assortment of answers. Obviously, being a photography portfolio the quality is important, and it's good to see them large and hi-res as a visitor, but that comes at a cost. My question is, should I further reduce the size, or the quality to get the size of the pictures lower? They are about 2mb each right now. They are 567px on website, but larger when you click to open in lightbox. Right now I've reduced the images to a max width of 2000px. ![]() I'm using lightbox to showcase my photos when they are clicked on. ![]() I've decided to make mine a portfolio for my digital art/photography. Our final project is to use what we've learned on html/css and make our own website of our choosing. Taking my first web design course (as a graphic design student, thinking of changing to webdesign). ![]()
